Usually, there are not too many shipping restrictions for domestic shipments. You may only need to check the maximum size and weight of each package before you ship them.
However, restrictions can be very different if it's an International shipment.
Firstly, there are items prohibited or restricted by the customs of the destination country.
Commonly, those items are restricted and prohibited by most countries:
animals and animal products
live or dead plants
fruits and vegetables
weapons
poisons
cash and coins
live insects, acrid and nematodes
cigarettes
tobacco and chewing tobacco
alcoholic beverages
salt
chemical powder
It's better not mail any of those items. Otherwise, your packages can be returned.
Each courier also has a list of restricted and prohibited items.
For example, Canada Post doesn't carry any items that contain batteries. However, UPS, DHL, and FedEx accept battery mailing. Since they have different policies regarding the battery type and volume, you may need to check their policies before shipping.
